I’ve been really sad about all the construction in Jerusalem, and I’m especially sad that Emek Refaim, a street I walked on and enjoyed almost every day, is becoming something else – something without character or soul.

I’m posting this on the day before Yom Kippur, a solemn day on the Jewish calendar. At the end of the fast, some people say, “Next Year in Jerusalem, Rebuilt!” But I don’t think they meant this.
